Nothing much to report....

Nothing much to report....but it seems so wrong not to write something on here every once in a while. I haven't been particulary crafty as of late, as the day job has been taking over, and unfortunately it looks like I won't be able to get crafty for another couple of weeks (the joys of exam marking!) However this weekend I experienced my first Calcota's (see pic). They are a Leek/Onion cross type veg and are BBQed and eaten (the inside - not the charcoaled bit!) I was surprised how nice they were actually! I also had some good news....I am going to be a bridesmaid next year :) How wonderful eh? Something very good happens inside at a wedding, reminds us that the world is acually full of love, and people in love. So I will leave you with the warm and fuzzy feeling! Enjoy!

Designing some new lovely things...

Happy Valentines day everyone! (Although we kinda' celebrated yesterday! lol) I have spent the day doing (very lazily) what I love to do most.....creating! :)

I have an order to complete and I hought...hey while I am it!! :) I had the blinds open as it was such a lovely sunny day!

I am working on a Mother's Day range which are coming along nicely.

I am also incredibly pleased with myself for making the two canvas' for my lounge :) They look sooooooooo funky and have a matching floor cushion as well. I am so pleased with them...I was goig through a zero inspiration dry spot last week, and now I feel overfull!!!! I am looking round the flat at different things I can do......I am tempted now to paint some flowers on my very white walls!!!! It's almost too tempting!! Lol :)

Today I had a moment of clarity....

A very good friend of mine has found out her mum has cancer. I guess we all hope we neve hear those words, but sadly to more of us than we would like to think, it does happen and we DO hear those words..."I'm sorry you have Cancer". I have been dwelling on this for a few days now. It is so close to my own family I can almost feel it, and I can not even begin to imagine what they are all going through. Of course I have done the emails and cards and ket in regular touch, but it never feels quite enough. Unfortunately being here in Spain it is never easy.
So a few days have gone by and then another friend of mine found out a friend of his (at 26) has been diagnosed with bowel cancer. I guess 2010 is the year for it eh! It makes you realise how short life is and how important the people you love in your life are. I am over soppy and often tell friends and family that I love them, but next time you hug, hug a little tighter, next time you kiss, kiss a little deeper and next time you tell someone you love them, look them right in the eyes right through to the soul, so if you never wake tomorrow they will always know.
Life is sooooooo short.
I am going to design something this weekend to sell on behalf of Cancer UK, I have decided, I am going to do my part. Please take a look at this blog and follow Paul's experience:
